When you talk about NBA today, and I mean "today", the first thing that comes up to your mind is the Dwightmare saga. Maybe Morey can't help to contain his excitement, but you can't blame the guy. NBA fined Rockets 150K for speaking about Dwight Howard.
Dwight Howard is currently 5× NBA rebounding leader (2008–2010, 2012–2013), every coach or team wants this guy in their roster. Every time he works on the glass its either a stop on the opposing team or a second chance for his team mates.
When he decided to sign with the Lakers, the question I had in mind was "will he be able to do what Shaq did?". I'm not questioning the stats or how effectively he can play compared to Shaq, but the question was in reference to Shaq who became the leader of the Lakers. When Phil Jackson joined the Lakers, he decided to create plays that made Shaq the center of it especially in the offensive side. And Shaq was made the leader of the team since he get along well with others compared to Kobe.
So maybe that didn't happen to Dwight, I say Dwight is like a most sophisticated gadget in the market, bought and given to a homeless guy who don't know what to do with it. With all due respect to Mike D'Antoni, maybe what Lakers do need as a coach was someone who's brave enough to say to Kobe's face "Hey you just sit down and will try to make some plays around the big guy" when Dwight was still playing with the Lakers.
Dwight clearly doesn't know who to work with, not like LeBron, LeBron knew who he needs to play along before he jumped out from Cleveland. Until Dwight discover this his "Dwightmare Saga" might turn into "Dwight The Explorer".
